YouTube Incognito Mode overview:
After doing a lot of testing on the YouTube App, the company finally rolled out an update to the app. As an update, you will get a new feature- Incognito Mode in the YouTube App. Just like the incognito mode in the Chrome browser, you will get the facility by which no watch and search history will be recorded while watching or browsing Youtube videos.
How to open YouTube Incognito Mode:
These are the steps to access YouTube in incognito mode:
1. Open YouTube App (Updated version).
2. Open the account section of the app by clicking on the top-right avatar in the app.
3. Select “Turn on Incognito mode”.
As soon as you select the Incognito mode there will be a prompt which will say “You’ve gone incognito”.Your account avatar will also be replaced by the grey shade incognito detective avatar in the top-right corner. Additionally, there will also appear a “You’re incognito” bar at the bottom throughout the app which will remind you of the incognito fact.
Just as the Incognito mode in Chrome, all the search and watch activity will be cleared when you exit the YouTube Incognito mode. Remember that the mode also gets deactivate after a period of inactivity. As you are already aware of the fact that Google still cautions you that “your activity might still be visible to your employer, school, or internet service provider.” similarly in the Incognito mode in Google Chrome.
During the period, the YouTube Incognito mode remains active, you will only be able to access the Trending and Home portions of the app. Stuff like your subscriptions, library, and inbox won’t be available in the private browsing window. In order to add a video to a playlist during Incognito mode, a button will arrive at the bottom to quickly”Turn off Incognito” while preserving your position watching the clip.
Who will get this feature?
