WhatsApp Upcoming Features | Video Preview | Touch ID and Lot More
Hello Hitechian, welcome back to my another tech post. In this post, I am going to tell you about the WhatsApp upcoming features. So, without wasting much time let’s head over to it.
1. Preview video from Notification:
Yes, now you can preview video messages sent to you in the notification panel itself. It means now you don’t have to open WhatsApp to see the video messages sent to you.
This feature is currently under testing for iOS devices and soon will come as a stable update. This feature will make the chat a lot easier than before.
There is no news when the Android devices will get this update. But iOS users can expect it soon.
This feature is also going to arrive soon for WhatsApp users. By using this update you will be able to share your information through QR code. This feature is similar to that of Nametag in Instagram and Snapcode in Snapchat.
By arriving as a stable WhatsApp update, it will give a tough competition to its rivals Instagram and Snapchat, respectively. QR code will also be useful for adding new contacts in your address book by just scanning the QR send by your friend.
After successful scanning of QR code, all the fields of add contact will be get filled automatically thus saving a bit more time. QR code feature will also be useful for making successful payments in the WhatsApp Business app. This feature is spotted on the iOS device and there is no update for Android devices till yet.
3. Dark Mode in WhatsApp:
There are a lot of rumors that WhatsApp is currently working for another feature named as Dark Mode. This feature is currently not present in both iOS and Android devices. This is one of the most anticipated WhatsApp upcoming features. If this feature comes soon then it will save a lot of battery on your smartphone, especially for the smartphones which have power hungry OLED displays.
For the unknowns, after releasing dark mode as one of the updates WhatsApp app will also join the gang of Youtube and Android messenger which already have a dark mode in them.
4. Touch ID and Face ID support for iOS users:
Last but not the least, WhatsApp is going to release an update which will enable iOS users to secure their iOS devices with Touch ID and Face ID. This feature is currently under testing and will soon roll out as a stable update when tested successfully.
As you already know that iOS users can’t lock their iPhone apps just as they can lock apps in Android devices with the help of various app lockers. By getting this update iOS user can secure and encrypt their private chats and messages with Touch ID and Face ID. If you are one of the iOS users, then cheers!
WhatsApp messenger won’t be the only famous instant messaging app to support Touch ID and Face ID. Messaging apps such as Telegram and Signal are already using Apple’s in-house biometric technologies to protect your chat messages. Microsoft Outlook app also has the option to enable support for Touch ID and Face ID.
