Google Assistant can now talk in Hindi

Have you ever imagined that how Google Assistant will speak in Hindi, or how it will sing a song in Hindi? Don’t worry, now it can be possible as Google has rolled out the Hindi support for its Assistant officially. At present, this update is been rolling out for devices with Android 6.0 and above and will soon be also available for Android 5.0, for iOS 9.1 and above and also for Android GO devices. You just have to go to App Store on iPhone or Play Store on Android for new and updated Google Assistant download. In late January when the Assistant started giving the results for Hindi queries, then only the sign of, Google Assistant supporting the Hindi language, emerged.

How to access Google Assistant in Hindi?

In order to access Google Assistant in Hindi, you have to set your device language to Hindi and then touch and hold the home button or you can say “Ok Google” command to turn on Google Assistant. Additionally, you also have to download the latest Google search app to gain the new experience.

By introducing the Hindi language support in its Assistant, Google has once again made the competition difficult for Alexa and Siri in which the Hindi support is yet to be added. These are some of the commands which the users can give in Hindi to their Assistant:“Mujhe kal subah aath baje jaga dena” in order to set the alarm for 8:00 AM in morning and to get the latest cricket score updates you have to say “Cricket ka score kya hai?”.The magic of Google Assistant is still not over. Google, with its machine-learning algorithm, will ensure that the Assistant learns user preferences, likes, dislikes and also understand user context to give correct results for Hindi queries.

A saying of a developer:

Purvi Shah, Technical Program Manager, Assistant, in a press statement said that the Google Assistant is truly Indian and it’s our helpful dost that speaks our language and understands the things we care about, from finding biryani recipes to pulling up the latest cricket score or finding directions to the nearest ATM. She also added that in order to make it even more useful to Indians over time, developers and businesses can now build actions for the Hindi Google Assistant through the developer platform Actions on Google. Once an action is built, the user can just say ‘Ok Google, talk to’ and access the service or content straight through your Google Assistant.”
